I'm not recommending the use of such things
here on the SI-List. But, for those who think
they would benefit knowing the acronyms used
elsewhere, here's a little list.

TLAs:

TLA: Three Letter Acronym

AFK: Away From Keyboard
ATM: At The Moment
BBL: Be Back Later
BBS: Be Back Soon
BFN: Bye For Now
BRB: Be Right Back
BTW: By The Way
CUL: See You Later
IMO: In My Opinion
GFY: Good For You
LOL: Laughs Out Loud
MMD: Make My Day

ETLAs:

ETLA: Extended Three Letter Acronym

AFAIK: As Far As I Know
GD&R: Grinning, Ducking, and Running (after snide remark)
IMHO: In My Humble Opinion
IMNSHO: In My Not-So-Humble Opinion
IIRC: If I Remember Correctly
OTOH: On The Other Hand
ROTFL: Rolling On The Floor Laughing
TTFN: Ta Ta For Now
