Dear Si-List Members,

Thank you for the informative resposnses which helped me to expand my
understanding of serpentine traces.

I have been particularly interested in the following two problems:

1. What is the minimum spacing of adjacent traces (belonging to a
serpentine configuration) which allows limiting the crosstalk to less
than 3% ?

2. Noting that the propagation delay (unloaded) for a microstrip trace
is approximately 2 ns/ft, what is the corresponding value of propagation
delay (unloaded) for a serpentine trace?

It should be possible to determine exact numerical solutions for above
problems by analytical means, or to obtain approximate answers by
utilizing rules of thumb. Furthermore, solutions can be also generated
by means of simulation (for example using QUAD).

Regards,
