Leo came to us from the local "no kill" animal shelter. He was about
6 - 8 months old in this photo.
As we understand it, he was found with a sibbling under a car in someone's garage. He also liked to hide under cars when we let him into the garage during Wisconsin's winter to reduce "cabin fever". My wife's comment concerning Leo is
that this once feral cat has been 'tamed but not conquered'. He's been
known, for example, to make a complete circuit of our living room without
ever touching the floor. What else are the couch, window sills, TV
cabinet, fireplace mantle, office desk, and rocking chair for, anyway? Leo has really taken to moving to California.
He is quite a bit older now and performs the function of "Uncle" to
a group of three stray 'male' kittens we were adopted by a couple of months after they were born around July 4th, 2002. |
