ANNOUNCEMENTS

New Year is again approaching!
Attention all Members!!! Club dues for the year 2010 are due as of Jan. 1st..
Please renew your Membership at your first available opportunity.
Also, PLEASE consider becoming an A.R.R.L. Member, if you aren't already.

Officers Elected for 2009
The Officers for coming year were elected at the December Meeting and Christmas Dinner
held at Smokin' in Style BBQ in Dec. '08. Continuing in his 12th term as President is Bob King (W5LVB).
Phil Gladden (WA5VRQ) to serve his 1st term as Vice-President.
And continuing as Secretary / Treasurer is Bob Planje (KC5MYL). 

Meeting Night
The Spa Amateur Radio Association, Inc. meets on the 1st Tuesday of each month, 7 p.m.,
HSFD Central Station on Broadway Av. in Hot Springs. 

Incorporation
As of 12-14-01, we are now SPA Amateur Radio Association, Inc.

Tower    
All of the amateur equipment (146.760, 444.600, SPA Packet, SPA50 Packet) are operational on the City/County tower. The 146.760 and 444.600 antennas have 'top' billing at 210' and the Packet antennas are both at 150'.

A.R.R.L. News

THERE ARE APROX. 7000 HAMS IN ARKANSAS.
OF THOSE, APROX. 1500 ARE A.R.R.L. MEMBERS.
A.R.R.L. MEMBERSHIP IS UP ~3.62% IN 2007 (NATIONAL AVG. 3.50%)

We as an 'Affiliated' Club, must maintain a certain percentage level (of our Membership) in the A.R.R.L. to
keep this 'Affiliated' designation. In recent years, we have barely made the percentage needed for this.
Recently, due to an increase in 'new' members and a return of some 'old friends', this percentage has
improved greatly. BUT, we can still improve. It would be great to say we are 100% A.R.R.L. Membership!
It is an added cost to our budgets, but the 'benefits' well out-weigh the cost.

MEMBERSHIP COST - $39.00 YEAR
THAT EQUATES TO $0.106840 A DAY!
FOR 11 CENTS A DAY, YOU GET MANY GREAT BENEFITS!
