As supplied from Icom, the IC-T22A covers 136.000 - 174.995 MHz.
To increase the frequency range of the IC-T22A press and hold the #-key and B-key
while turning the unit on with the power-key. Hold all three until the LCD display completes
the power on self test. The new frequency range will be 10.000 - 999.900 MHz. The actual useful receive
frequency range is 108.000 - 174.995 MHz.
Receive performance outside the 2 meter Amateur band is not specified. The radio will tune below 108.000 MHz.
and above 174.995 MHz. but no signals can be heard.
After this change the following additional features become available.
MD - Receive Mode Selection
The IC-T22A can be set to automatically select AM receive mode between 108.000 and 135.995 MHz with the MD setting.
MD can be toggled between AUT for auto mode change and MAN for manual mode change.
AM Detector
To toggle between AM and FM modes
at any frequency press and hold the Function-key and then press the Monitor-key. The decimal to the right of the frequency
display indicates AM mode. Transmit is FM at all times.
PL - Entering 100 MHz. Digit
A new inital setting value, PL, can be adjusted to allow
the 100 and 10 MHz. digit to be entered via the keypad. PL can be selected
between 1, 10, and 100 for 1, 10, and 100 MHz. entry respectively.
10 MHz. Dial Sel
10 MHz. may be selected as the dial selection via the
Dial Sel-key. The Dial Sel-key will now select between .1, 1, and 10 MHz.
