Located in the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia the Opequon Radio Society provides Amateur Radio Emergency Service communications for many organizations such as the American Red Cross and the Berkeley County Office of Emergency Services. The Opequon Radio Society also promotes community service by assisting with communications during such events as the Apple Harvest Parade and the local MS Walk.
