I have been a licensed Amateur (Ham) Radio Operator since 1976 with interest in public service and emergency traffic handling. My amateur radio callsign is WA6RUZ. In 1987 I was appointed Assistant Director for the American Radio Relay League Southwestern Division and have been re-appointed to this position seven times, with a total of thirteen years of service.

In 1995 I became Emergency Coordinator for the Mission Viejo Amateur Radio Emergency Service (ARES) and Radio Officer of the Mission Viejo Radio Amateur Civil Emergency Service (RACES) which serves the City of Mission Viejo in Orange County, California.
