President’s Report: Mike,
N6OPH asked if anyone had not received their CounterPoise. He apologized
to the members and explained that many may have been late due to the late
delivery to the Post Office and the Christmas season crunch and Bulk Rate
mailings will suffer.
It was noted that the following
Paid members have not been getting their newsletter regularly.

The Membership chair, postmaster and the CounterPoise Editor(s) will take note and remedy the situation.
Hillsdale Middle School UPDATE.
All of the Station Equipment was inventoried and a letter of thank you
will be sent to Cathy Toy for her generous donation.
Friendship Festival:
There was a great turnout
for the El Cajon Friendship Festival. The city presented our Club with
a nice certificate of Appreciation. Rich, N6NKJ and Mike, N6OPH were at
the presentation dinner.
Outgoing Officers and Board
Members:
Mike thanked all of the
2002 Officers and Board members for their very hard work over that past
year. He gave a special thank you to Nancy, KD6WUL as our club Treasurer,
CounterPoise Editor and Convention Vendor Chair besides working full time
and going to school to get her Bachelors Degree. Also, Tom, KC6NXZ for
his hard work as club Secretary, Web master in spite of many other commitments
including the ARRL Southwestern Division Convention Vice-Chairman.
Masonic Meeting Hall Rental:
Mike informed the club that the hall was still available on the same night,
Wednesday, for the next year at the same rate because the Masons have decided
not to sell the building. He spoke to the man in charge tonight and it
was agreed that we can rent the hall for the same amount as 2002. Therefore,
Mike suggested that tonight would be a good time to pay the 2003 rental
of $ 25.00 / month = $ 300.00.
A Motion was made by KG6NDX
and 2nd by Gordon, WB6POW to Renew the Lease for the meeting hall.
A Motion was made by Susan, KF6WXA 2nd by Claude Gunnersen, KD6CYS to pay the $300.00 fee tonight for the year 2003 12 months of rental.

Treasurer’s Report: Read
by Mike, N6OPH and approved by the membership to be filed for audit.
Addendum: We received a
second check from the Swapmeet for $300.00. Many thanks to Tom Myrick,
N6JOJ for expediting this for the Club.

mentioned that all help with the Hillsdale Middle School project is appreciated.
The ARC of El Cajon will be the lead in this project.
The usual ARES
Breakfast on the 2nd Saturday will be converted to a Central District’s
followed by the usual training at the Kearny Mesa Rec Center at 10:00 AM

there will be a new San Diego Section breakfast meeting by the new Section
Emergency Coordinator, Glenn, WM6B at the Spice House on Clairmont Mesa
Blvd at 6:30 AM on the 2nd Saturday. Followed by new Training at the EOC

Health & Welfare: Tuck, NZ6T received information from Duncan Cambell, KF6ILA from Guam. The Island was hit by a tremendous typhoon over weekend. Some reports indicated 180 MPH winds. He and wife Calolyn, KF6JVF are doing fine although they only have a small generator and he was siphoning gas from his car for that. The rest of the Island is in bad shape. The Typhoon Chata'an was worst there in 37 years.

Tuck made a motion to purchase
2 handheld radios to give away at the Christmas Party on 12-13-02.
This was amended by Steve,
AD6VI 2nd by Susan, KF6WXA due to the club’s economic conditions to reduce
the main prize to 1 ICOM ICT-90A that covers 2 meters, 70 cm and
6 meters.
This motion was approved
by the membership.
NEW REPEATER: Joe, N6SIX announced that there is a 6-meter repeater, N6LXX on Mt. San Miguel linked into most of Southern California that can be accessed from anywhere in San Diego with a handheld. The Frequency is 53.58 mHz minus offset P.L. of 103.5
A Motion was made by Tuck, NZ6T, 2nd by Gordon, WB6POW, that Due to Economic conditions to reduce our usual 12 - $25.00 prizes at the Christmas party to 6 - $ 25.00 Prizes. This motion was passed by the membership.
