The Gotham City Radio Association was founded in 1998 by Lawrence D. Rand, WB2TXL, who is its President and Trustee. There are no fees or dues to become a member of this club which is primarilty dedidcated to promoting amateur, or "ham radio," as a hobby. We also are interested in radio services (i.e. scanning, short wave listening, the Family Radio Service (FRS) and the General Mobile Radio Service (GMRS). The only requirement for embership is a desire to further radio communication as a hobby. Unfortunately, we don't have any set meeetings or any meeting location, althouugh you can contact some of the club's members on the Manhattan Avenue of the Americas Radio Club's repeaters on VHF at 147.36 or on UHF at 447.825, assuming that you have a license and VHF or UHF capabilities. If you don't have a radio, you can E-mail the club or call Larry Rand at (212) 532-53!9. In the future, we hope to expand our membership and have regular informal meetings. If you have an interest in joining the Gotham City RadioAssociation, please contact us. If you want to find out about WB2TXL, please click on http://www.qsl.net/wb2txl.
