Applications for renewal may be submitted no more than 90 days prior to expiration.
The grace period for amateur licenses is two years.

  FCC Form 605 - Quick-Form Application for Authorization in the Ship,  Aircraft, Amateur,
  Restricted and Commercial Operator, and the General Mobile Radio Service. (July 99 edition
  or later)

or by calling the FCC's  Form Distribution Center at 1-800-418-3676 or from the Fax-On-Demand
service by dailing 1-202-418-0177 from your telephone.

Use Main Form and Schedule D. Schedule D, Part 1 is used to apply for a  callsign change or to apply for a vanity call.
Include Schedule D with  the Main Form.

  * FOR RENEWALS/MODLIFICATIONS or MODIFICATION:  Schedule D, Part 1,
    Question 1 must be answered with the appropriate answer and included with the Main Form.

  CLUB, RECREATION STATION and RACES Licenses:

  NOTE: Effective January 22, 2001, the FCC will accept applications  for new, modification of, or renewal
  of amateur service club and  military recreation station licenses only from a CSCSA.

  A CSCSA (Club Station Call Sign Administrator) is an amateur radio organization that has tax-exempt status
  under Section 501(c)(3) of  the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 and that has agreed to provide
  voluntary, uncompensated and unreimbursed services for processing applications for club, military recreation
  and RACES station licenses.

  To obtain a new amateur service club station or military recreation station license, to modify or renew an
  amateur service club station or military recreation station license, or to modify a RACES station
  license, you must file your application document with one the CSCS As  listed below. Contact the
  administrator of your choice for information on their filing requirements.
