The 1999 Field Day location for WAWA was held in the town of Winslow, Maine between the Elementary and Jr. High Schools next to the running track. The club had access to a two story equipment shed (and announcer booth) which made for a wonderful base camp for our transmitters. Also there is plenty of room for separating the transmitter stations and for keeping out of each others way. The building was well ventilated for hot weather we experienced and we had access to the port-o-potties on the premises.
This station was open to the public and several folks dropped
in to check us out. It wasn't until later that we realized that
we should have used a signup sheet for the public to earn a few
extra points.

Setup and Operational Plans:
Set up began during the evening of Friday the 25th. Most of the base equipment was dropped off (trailers and towers). By nightfall, we had the stagging, belonging to Mike (KB1AWS); assembled and roped off. Plus two towers (VHF and HF) assembled and ready for deployment on Saturday.
On Saturday, setup continued early in the day. The club's trailer tower was on location and all antennas were deployed and guyed where needed.
William (N1RCV) provided the generator which provided power for all but one transmitter.
By 2:00 pm Saturaday, the club was ready to go on the air and at least one of our transmitters were put to work while the remainder of the team worked on finishing the assembly of other equipment.
Operation continued into Sunday and was winding down by mid morning. Dismantling of the station conmenced and was completed around 3:00 pm.
