WA1IXU operates three repeaters in the west central portion of Connecticut, 53.05Mhz, 224.22Mhz, and 448.875Mhz.

The 53.05Mhx is a split site repeater with the Transmitter located in Bristol and the Receiver in Prospect. The transmit equipment is composed of an RCA Transmitter with 100watts of output power to a single Cell Wave dipole antenna. The receive equipment is base around a Motorola Micor repeater receiver and a Mosley DI-6 1/4 wave antenna. ( soon to be replaced with 2 Cell Wave dipoles in an omni configuration. ) The repeater controller is a custom design by WA1TWX. The two sites are then connected via a commercial digital microwave system.

The 224.22Mhz system is located at the Bristol site. The repeater uses a transmitter and receiver both manufactured by Spectrum Communications. The transmitter is running 60watts to a six cavity Cell Wave duplexer and then onto a sinclair 5.8 db antenna via 7/8" hard line. The antenna  is at 1180ft asl atop of a 130ft. Tower. The repeater controller is a ACC-850 w/ Digital Voice Recorder with frequency agile remote bases on 10meters, 2meters, and 430Mhz. The remote bases are all ICOM IC-901 modules. The system power is completely backed up and a statewide auto patch is also available.

The 448.875Mhz system is an ICOM all inclusive repeater with the original controller replaced by a WA1TWX home grown unit. The repeater of ten watts is feed to a TPL power amplifier with an output of 75watts. The power is then fed to a six cavity Cell Wave Duplexer with 7/8 hard line to a 10db Sinclair antenna, also top mounted on the tower.
