Hi Mark, It wasn't an earth shattering period here, but I will note highlights for you, and also give you a rundown of the noteworthy peaks of the four trans-Pacific stations (JOAK-594, 4QR-612, 4QD-1548, and HLAZ-1566) on which I am running a continuous signal strength monitoring program. All times UTC. All heard on homebrew receiver using a 3' square amplified box loop located at Victoria, BC. Oct 8: 594 peaked @1358, 612 peaked @1321 and 1048 Oct 9: weak TA het 0450 on 1314 kHz numerous Asiatic carriers around 1400-1415: 1566, 1323, 1314, 1134, 972, 1008, 1017, 873, 864, 846, 837, 819, 801, 756, 738. A "down-under" carrier noted on 639. Also: 828 JAPAN, Osaka, JOBB. 1409. news in EE "from Radio Japan", poor to fair, //poorer signals on 774 and 747. t855 NORTH KOREA, 1407, poor signal, man talking way down in splatter. 594 peaked @1406 w/JJ talk, 612 (4QR, likely just a carrier)@1330 Oct 10: 0317 TA carrier on 1314. best Asiatic morning? Oct 11: in spite of overall poor conditions, an Asiatic carrier on 594 peaking @1401 Oct 12: 612 had a good peak at 1043, probably audio, but this was on the automatic signal strength logger, so who knows? A lot of overseas DXing in this part of the world consists of jotting down carriers heard. (hence, my monitoring program) Hope this isn't too disjointed for you to use. Thanks for your efforts. best wishes, Nick **************************************************************************** Nick Hall-Patch Victoria, B.C.
