For any others that cannot be there, we will make arrangements via email or phone.

Rules of this sale

None of this equipment has been tested.  It is being sold "as is".

This will be a short sale in that the equipment must be removed from the house on 25 June.

All proceeds of this sale will go to Donald Petersen.

All bids will be prioritized based on the email date/time stamp.

The purpose of this sale is to attempt to recover some value from this collection to aid Donald with his living expenses.  Whereas we are not making the effort to achieve the highest return possible, we also will not allow items to be "given away".  All winning bids will be reviewed by committee before the winners are notified to verify that they are returning a fair value to Don.

We will be accepting bids for this equipment through 17:00 CDT on 21 June.  The winning bidders will be notified at that time.  Arrangements will be made to meet at the house on 25 June to remove the equipment.  If this date is not convenient for you and you are a winning bidder, arrangements may be made for you to retrieve the equipment at a later date from another location.  Winning bidders may also arrange for others to pick up their equipment for them.

This sale is generally pickup only, we will not be taking the time to pack and ship this equipment.  We may be able to use a commercial packing/shipping business if the buyer is willing to pay the cost of this service.

I have been asked about visits to view the equipment.  This is something we are trying to avoid due to the time hassles of the folks that are attempting to inventory the house contents during the next two weeks.  I would guess we could likely arrange a visit for anyone interested in bidding on the complete S-Line station.

Bidding process:

1) Bidding may be done by email (wa0roi <at> rocketmail.com) or via telephone to Chuck (515) 975-7796.

2) For radio equipment, bid by model number,

3) For misc equipment bid by ITEM number.

4) Any person with a high bid will be notified immediately by email when someone outbids them.

5) Winning bids will be examined on 21 June and bidders notified via email that same date.

Note that if a person wishes to bid on the S-Line station as a "package", their package offer will have to equal or exceed the sum of all individual item offers.  For the purposes of this auction, the 30L-1 is not considered part of the "station".  That is, you will need to make a separate offer on the 30L-1.  The original bill of sale for the station also does not include the 30L-1, but does include everything else listed under "station" below. Again, we're not trying to make Don rich, but merely to make sure he gets the best offered value for his items.

When current offer price is shown by an item, it may or may not be the most current but is there to give bidders an idea of what has proceeded them.  I will attempt to keep it updated in real time.

75S-1 (current offer $100) Receiver (s/n 1949) with F455Q-5 Filter (#526-9367-00) and BFO Xtal (#290-8707-00) for CW operation with this receiver. 75s-1.jpg (381786 bytes)

516F-2 Power Supply (s/n 1995) (current offer $20)

This station was purchased by Donald from Quement Industrial Electronics on 26 February 1960.  Original bill of sale exists.

All the interconnecting cables are available and were disconnected on 4 June 2010.  From log entries it would appear this station was last used in 2004.

All equipment is in good but slightly dusty condition.  Note that the front feet are missing from all of the above units.  These feet may or may not be discovered before the end of this sale.  All manuals are included.

Collins 30L-1 amplifier (final offer $425)

  30L-1.jpg (306417 bytes) 30L-1 a.JPG (358306 bytes) 30L-1 b.JPG (991115 bytes)

This amplifier was purchased in March 1964 (s/n 10201).  This appears to be in good but slightly dusty condition.  Note that the power cord is wrapped in electrical tape for its full length, reason unknown.   We do not have the original bill of sale for this amplifier.  The purchase date was determined via other insurance-related documentation contained in Don's paperwork.  For the purposes of this auction, this item is considered separate from the S-Line station.  That is, if you wish to bid on the S-Line station including this amplifier, you will need to make an offer on the basic station and a separate offer on this amplifier.

Johnson Kilowatt Matchbox (final offer $160)

 efj front.JPG (386092 bytes) efj rear.JPG (463921 bytes)

Model 250-30-3 was purchased by Donald from Quement Industrial Electronics on 26 February 1960.  This is in above average condition in that the back panel markings are all readable.   This unit is complete with the remote sensor and manual.  It appears as though an input selector switch has been added on the rear panel.

Howard Model 450A receiver (final offer $75)

howard.jpg (368572 bytes)

This is a .55 - 65 MHz general coverage receiver (s/n 6246).  This was manufactured in 1939 and purchased by Donald on 7 May 1940 from Farnsworth Radio Co in Waterloo.

Externally, this unit is in average to slightly below average condition related to the front panel condition.  It is missing all 10 front panel mounting screws. This comes with a manual for the Model 450.

ITEM 7: (final offer $15) Several boxes of miscellaneous tubes, quantity unknown but likely between 50 & 100 tubes.  We do not know what tubes are in this quantity.
