YL's/ XYL's and their views on HAM Radio.
XYL's have a strange view on HAM Radio. Prior to marriage, it's you're so smart!! You know all this technical stuff and can talk all over the world!! Your vast mind is such a turn on!! After marriage... That radio is the Devil's machine. It was put on Earth to corrupt decent husbands and ruin their families.
Does this ring a bell??... Just as you're confirming that rare DX..."Will you get off that radio!! You've been on for an entire 5 minutes!! Please come and do something productive. America's funniest videos are on.." In the distance ...W9Z??? W9Z?? agn pls... "Don't expect sex after you've been talking to strangers.. I know that thing is linked to a sex chat room. 559 and 73 must be new sex acts you'll be wanting. Well you can forget it!!
XYL radio gripes: If you have time to put up that antenna you have time to build an addition on the house.... You can talk to those foreigners but you won't talk to my sister Freida.. Those darn radio waves are messin up my plants!! If this sounds familia try " Hey Honey !! could you hold this wire while I try out my new KW!! Oh don't worry about that wet floor it'll be okay.
Well guys... No more of this xyl stuff because she's out of the picture!! Rather than put up with that mess, I'm out the door and off to a much better life. That's right.. LIFE IS GOOD NOW!!!! 3.5 acres in the country with my shack in the house with heat and air conditioning. No more sitting in the garage with the spiders. No more dirty looks from a sour puss xyl. LIFE is GREAT!!!
