NOVEMBER PREZ COLUMN

CQ, CQ, the CIRC.
The month of Nov is almost over. We have a couple of activities this
month. Jingle Bell Run
The first one is the Jingle Bell Run on the 18th . The event starts at
Ash Park and follows Constitution Trail past Colene Hoose School on the
way to Jumers. The race portion kicks off at 1 p.m. We will be in
place by 1230 p.m. The event lasts around an hour.
Nominating Committee News

the year 2002, at the October meeting.

Mitch Bricker KB9PXL
Treasurer:
Rick Kempf WD9HRU
To be selected:
An Elected Board Member
Nominations will be accepted from the floor at the November meeting,
with voting to follow.
Xmas Dinner
Our Christmas dinner is December 6, 6:30 arrival, eating around 7 at Ned
Kelley's. We will be choosing from the menu, so you do not have to pick
ahead of time. It would be extremely helpful though, to get a head count
to Keith AC9S so that they pick a suitable area for us, no later than
November 28. Last year the group ended up being separated.
Code Class:
Presented by Dean Lacy AA9BS, assistant Larry Mays KB9NPH
John Payne KB9ZDZ has been the only ongoing member and is progressing
quite well. John hopes to take his exam at Morton on the 15th of
December. We all have had a good time working with the code, meeting at
Dean's on a weekly basis. Deans assistant has declared some
absenteeism in order to fill other commitments.
Red Cross:
CIRC member Larry Mays KB9NPH and his wife (Cheryl) have joined the
Heartland Chapter of Bloomington Red Cross. I am willing to serve as a
liaison between the CIRC and the Red Cross as needed. Whenever I
indicate I'm a member of the Central Illinois Radio Club that has their
monthly meeting at the Red Cross, it generates very positive feed back.
With comments directed to how much the Red Cross expects to depend on
the radio communications should the need arise. September 11, 2001 has
put a challenge to this club that we need to prepare for.

Hope to see everybody at the November meeting
73's de WD9HRU.
