January 2005

CIRC:  Notes from the President, January 2005

Happy New Year, 2005

CIRC Officers for 2005: Officers for 2004 were re-appointed by the membership, for the year 2005.  Action dates back to the initial inquiry for officers in September and finalized at the October 2004 meeting.  Officers agreed to a one-year reappointment.

CIRC Dues 2005: Jim, WB9UWA will accept dues for 2005 at any time.  Membership is $10.00 per year per member or $15.00 for a family membership.  Deliver in person at the next club meeting or mail to: Central Illinois Radio Club, P. O. Box 993, Bloomington, IL 61702-0993.  Stay informed via “Short CIRCuits”, by paying your dues soon!  Your mailing label indicates when your membership expires.

January 26th meeting: The January meeting will start at 7 p.m. with a swap meet to follow, hopefully beginning by 8 p.m.  Chuck W9KR will have a good assortment of equipment and miscellaneous items for sale; we also encourage other amateur operators to bring something for sale or trade.  The swap meeting is open to all.

Programs for 2005: The officers are working on scheduling of 05 programming, with the first being our meeting/sway night on January 26. I will try to make meetings “short” when we have an established program or social event on board.  The ultimate goal is to dedicate an evening to a meeting and the next month, dedicate the time to our program presentation and maybe even refreshment.  I’ll certainly need the assistance of the membership to make this a reality.

Upcoming events:

M – F, coffee at the DQ on College Avenue, 9 a.m. – 10?

W5YI Testing January 15th 1 p.m. (see Bloomington Exam Dates)

Open House Unit 5 – Hobby Night  / CIRC presentation, January 20, 7 p.m.-?

10 – 10 Breakfast February 5th Bakers Square, 8 a.m.

February 23rd, next meeting date, social/family evening set for our annual Cherry Pie Night.

73, Larry KB9NPH
