The C.R.E.S. CLUB
The club was established in 1962 and serves the central Ohio area. Its goals include stimulating interest in amateur radio, the exchange of technical information, emergency readiness, and social activities for the membership and their families.
DECEMBER REGULAR CLUB MEETING

When: December 8th
Time: 6pm (6 - 7pm ham radio mixer ... come and participate in the tall tower tales)

As always, a carry-in dinner is allowed and kitchen facilities are available if needed. A brief business meeting, including elections for the coming year, will begin promptly at 7pm.
Where: New Albany Public Library
Topic: GPS/APRS Presentation by Mike Mickelson (KD8DZ) and Kevin Howard (KD8DNO).
Many are probably at least somewhat familiar with GPS (Global Positioning System) and perhaps less so with APRS (Automatic Packet Reporting System). While the latter is often viewed as just a vehicle tracking system, it is actually much more than that, especially as it relates to ARES and other emergency operations. Mike and Kevin will describe in technical detail what both systems are, how they function together and then give a real-time demonstration of their combined operation.

Annual Club Picnic and the OSPOTA - Ohio State Parks on the Air Contest

The club's annual picnic was a great success out at Buckeye Lake again; same place as last year.

Pictures from the 2009 Club picnic can be found here.

FIELD DAY 2009 PICTURES

A few photo highlights of the day can be seen here. A presentation of WA8LBZ - Al Meccozi's Power Point Slide Show of field day which he presented at the August 20th regular meeting can be viewed by clicking the Field Day 2009 link in the menu (Flash is required).
