DECEMBER REGULAR CLUB MEETING When: December 8th As always, a carry-in dinner is allowed and kitchen facilities are available if needed.
A brief business meeting, including elections for the coming year, will begin promptly at 7pm.
Where: New Albany Public LibraryTopic: GPS/APRS Presentation by Mike Mickelson (KD8DZ) and Kevin Howard (KD8DNO). Many are probably at least somewhat familiar with GPS (Global Positioning System)
and perhaps less so with APRS (Automatic Packet Reporting System). While the
latter is often viewed as just a vehicle tracking system, it is actually much
more than that, especially as it relates to ARES and other emergency operations.
Mike and Kevin will describe in technical detail what both systems are, how they
function together and then give a real-time demonstration of their combined operation.
