Field Day

                                     2008 Field Day

This years Field Day will be on June 28-29, 2008 and always the fourth full week end in June.  The Milford Club will be at the same site as last year, Dodge Park #10, 1/4 mile South of Livingston Road, on the West side of Pettibone Lake Road.  Since it is a Michigan State Park, a daily entrance fee will be needed, which might be refunded by the Field Day Chairman or the Executive Board.

The things that recommended this site were;  running water in the kitchenette, flush toilets, electricity in the kitchenette for keeping the food warm, plenty of room and trees for antennas, close to the level paved parking lot for the motor homes, and really beautiful place to have Field Day.

We will met at the park on Friday, June 27, to set up the antennas, and clean up the shelter. Then we return Saturday morning to set up the stations.

Last year, 2007, we ran 3-A with a CW station, and two SSB stations.
It was a beautiful weekend, the weather was great, the food was outstanding, and all the participants contributed to a real good time and a good score even though a bit lower than previous years.  WE ALL HAD A GREAT TIME!

     Points for previous years:

      Year    Class      QSO's     Points

        1999    2-A        362        1276

        2002    2-A        831        2350

        2003    2-A        879        3224

2004    3-A      1625        4878

2005    3-A      1450        4412

2006    3-A      1214        3624

        2007    3-A        966        2956

The Milford Club of Ohio had a  score of
3292 points (including bonus points).    2342 + 950 Bonus Points = 3292.

                  3-A        943        3292

Looks like we didn't get enough bonus points this year, guys.  We didn't send or copy a message to the ARRL and our site was not visited by an elected official like last year.  Also, we didn't send the scores via the web (50 Points).  That was 3 X 100 bonus points + 50 = 350 Points(?)!

WOW! That would have been close.

It was a very close contest, Milford, MI vs. Milford, OH. We did had fun.
Let's do it again next year.
