Ned Keating KD8FCB gave a very interesting presentation on the Paraset.
The Paraset was a small, low-power; vacuum tube CW radio transceiver supplied to the resistance groups in France, Belgium and the Netherlands during World War II.
Parasets were hand wired by Army Signalmen who came and went which explains some of the differences to be seen under the panel in each Paraset. Several thousand Parasets were produced and possibly no two were identical.
So the fact that each Paraset was possibly slightly different, one to another, gave Ned an opportunity to make his own variation based on the basic theme of the Paraset and available parts that he was able to find. Ned had his replica on display and it was passed around for a closer inspection, including removing the cover panel for an even closer inspection.
Meeting adjourned at 9:00 p.m.
