The Midland Amateur Radio Club is pleased to announce that the date and location for the 35th Annual Midland Hamfest and Computer Show has been set. The Hamfest will take place on Saturday, June 20th, 2009, which is the weekend prior to Field Day. Due to scheduling problems, we've changed our venue to the Midland Salvation Army building, 330 Waldo St, in Midland. Though somewhat smaller than the facility at the Fairgrounds, we're excited about the move to the Salvation Army building. The new facility will allow us to move the kitchen and socializing area off the display floor proper, and at the same time provide us with space to present forums of interest to the Amateur Radio community, allowing us to become a more full-featured amateur radio event. We are also proud to announce that Great Lakes Division Director Jim Weaver, K8JE and Eighth District Incoming QSL Bureau Manager Jay Slough, K4ZLE, have announced their intention of attending this year's Hamfest. Set-up will at 6:30 a.m., with the show running from 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.. Tables will be $5.00 each, same as last year. And of course, there will be an area for trunk sales. For further information or for table reservations, mail us at MARC Hamfest, P. O. Box 1049, Midland, MI 48641-1049. You may also contact the Hamfest Committee Chairman, Keith Johnson, KB8SOE, at (989) 832-4123, or via e-mail at kb8soe@arrl.net Please check this page often as we provide updates for seminars and vendors as information becomes available.
