My Dad took the Novice test in '61 and became KN0FVQ. A year
later  upgraded  to a  Conditional Class.  Had a  number  of rigs
most  notably  a  Johnson Ranger  and a  Hammarlund  receiver.
After upgrading,  got a  Collins S Line  and a Hy Gain Hy-Tower.

Before becoming a silent key in 1995, gave me the Collins S Line
we're using today.

  The Las Vegas operating position.

The X7 beam,  tower and rotor is the first
'bran spankin new gear we've gotten since
the Heathkit  frequency  counter  in 1978.
Had  Vibroplex make me an  'Original'  for a lefty,
but  mostly pound on an old  "Speed-X"  straight
key picked up in '58 from Allied Radio -in Chicago
then - with a set of  Morse  code phono  records.
Recently got an  Extra Class ticket to
access  the lower 25 kc. of 40 meters.
All the DX  found  in the  first  10 kcs.
Now  all the  Extras  will  be  demoted.
