The "Triple Nickel" Guys are:

sorry if I forgot anyone

Over the course of last winter there were several discussions about special event stations. Everyone thought it would be "cool" to have our own special event station right here in litt'l 'ol Great Falls, Montana.

The next step was to find an event that was worthy of such a station. Well, we were in luck. It just so happened that the new Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center Grand Opening would occur this year. BINGO! The Lewis & Clark Expedition played a major part in the settlement of this area. The Interpretive Center is a major facility for this area. The Grand Opening would correspond with the re-enactment of the Lewis & Clark Portage around the Great Falls of the Missouri River.

Now we had an Event worthy of a special event station. Bob KQ7K took the bull by the horns & has been working to set the whole darn thing up. This is Bob's first time organizing a special event station. Please bare with him..hi Bob's vision is quite challenging. The station will run over 5 days, with 5 stations on the air, & occur right after Field Day! This will truly test the "metal" of the local Amateur Radio Community! We are planning an operation of LARGE proportions. Our hope is to work 2000-3000 hams over the course of our 5 day operation.

In June, we organized a Working Group to help finalize plans. We will offer a very nice QSL card and will enclose information about the Interpretive Center.

You can use the links above to view all the details of the operation.

Hope to work you!

P.S.

The fellows at QST managed to loose our information that was to be published in the July issue. So, please help us spread the word! Tell everyone you know, email everyone you know, shout it from the highest mountain tops...hi
