WINLINK 2000

Orange County RACES has received UASI grant funds to set up A Winlink 2000 system for cities with an active RACES program. Once completed the Winlink 2000 system will provide an independent and redundant system that will allow EOC's to send and receive e-mail and attached documents. If internet, fax or phone service is lost this system will continue to provide this capability using Amateur Radio Equipment. We received:

3-Alinco Radios (1-2meter, 2-440) ; 1- 50 Amp Power Supply

2-2meter antennas; 1-Dell Desktop Computer with software; 1-Microline Printer

1 duplexer; 2 Kantronic TNC's

The Winlink Program has been partially activated and e-mails have been sent from The City of Laguna Woods EOC to various cities and individuals.

USE THE REPEATER

WEEKLY 2 METER NET

The Laguna Woods Amateur Radio Club Emergency Net is conducted every Thursday evening at 1930 (7:30 PM) on the club's repeater. The repeater set up is:

  • 147.615 MHz
  • negative offset
  • pl 136.5 Hz

The purpose of the net is to keep members equipment emergency ready.Any licensed amateur is invited to join the net.
