The Santa Clarita Amateur Radio Club (SCARC)
holds it meetings on the 3rd Wednesday of each month.
The meetings are normally held in the Santa Clarita City Hall,
Council Chambers, which has about 180 seats.
An informal "eyeball QSO" get together
precedes the meetings and starts at 6:00 PM when the doors open.
The formal meeting starts promptly at 7:00 PM. Come early for a
choice seat and meet the individual that
you talked to on the repeater.
From the South:
Take I-405 or I-5 North from the San Fernando
Valley to Valencia Blvd.
Exiting the this off ramp, turn right (east) onto Valencia Blvd.
Traveling on
Valencia Blvd, past McBean Parkway, you will notice the Valencia
Town
Center Mall on the left. Just past the mall, City
Hall will be on the right.
Plenty of parking is available around the building.
From the North:
Same as above, but you will be approaching
Valencia Blvd by going south on I-5.
Exiting the freeway you will need to turn left (east) onto
Valencia Blvd.
From the east, Antelope Valley area:

the Soledad Canyon off ramp.
Turn right (west) and follow Soledad Canyon for about 9 miles.
Soledad Canyon will change to Valencia Blvd when it crosses
Bouquet Canyon Rd.
Continue traveling on Valencia Blvd until you pass Magic Mountain
Blvd.
At the next stoplight, the City Hall will be on your immediate
left. Turn into the parking lot.
Anyone interested in Amateur Radio is welcome to join the
club. Dues are $25 per year, payable in January of each year.
Membership is on a calendar year basis, and there are reduced
rates for new members joining after March ($18.75 if joining in
April through June, $12.50 if joining in July through September,
and $6.25 if joining October through December). A family rate
provides for all members of a household to be members, with one
copy of the Club Newsletter going to the household. Seniors
(60 and over) and Youths ( under the age of 18) may join
for $15.
A membership application form is
available for CY 2000. Please fill it out, attach your
check and send it along to the SCARC
Treasurer.
Many members can be reached by electronic mail. A list of members with e-mail addresses is available.
Five officers (President, Vice-president, Secretary, Treasurer
and a Technical Chairperson) are elected for one year terms.
Committee Chairpersons serve at the will of the SCARC President
and Board of Directors. Click here
to find out who is
on the committees.
The Bylaws of the SCARC have been
updated to include all of the changes that have taken place over
the past few years. Members may pick up
their
copy of these Bylaws at any regular scheduled monthly
meeting.
As a volunteer organization, activities will vary as the interests of the membership vary, but traditionally include Monthly Club meetings, usually with guest speakers, a Club Holiday Dinner and Installation of Officers in December. The Club actively participates in the ARRL sponsored Field Day Activities held on the fourth full weekend in June, at least one picnic in the summer, and a project night. Also we have a Monthly T-Hunt, Bi-Monthly Amateur Licensing Examinations, a Weekly Net featuring Amateur Radio's Newsline.
Check out our Links page for some interesting sites.
The Annual Calendar of Events is available for your use. Please keep in mind that this Activity Calendar will be changing from Month to Month. Check back often for the latest information.
