This is the 24 Ghz antenna setup.  The dish is a surplus Avantek dish with chaparall feed.  Mounted just behind the dish is a 4-watt TWT and preamp.  The whole thing is mounted on a tripod and head that was used for making movies back in the 30’s.

The transverter and I/F rig normally sit in   the back of the vehicle out of the weather.  The I/F rig is a Kenwood TS790 multiband all-mode VHF/UHF radio.  The transverter was constructed from parts salvaged from Digital Microwave (DMC) microwave links.  The output of the transverter is connected via flexible waveguide to the TWT.
