Tom Low K5TKL Silent Key 1949-2000
LMRA Amateur Radio Club marks the passing of one of it's own.
Mr. Tom Low, K5TKL left us on Friday morning, November 17, 2000 as a result of a sudden heart attack. Tom was always ready to help others and volunteered for many Fort Worth and Metroplex events. He will be missed...
Tom volunteered as part of the tornado clean up this last April and was a regular at all the amateur radio events. He will be most remembered for his radio vehicle and the way he loved to be the lead in the various walks, runs, and bicycle races.
Tom was from Oakcliff in Dallas and moved to Austin to finish school. He worked for the Texas Highway Department and Tandy. He moved to Fort Worth and became a regular at area events. He was preceded in death by his father and survived by his mother and brother.
Tom had just recently passed his code test and had already passed
his general and extra exams and was looking forward to enjoying DX privileges.
Knowing Tom, if you get to ask questions in the afterlife then Tom is having
a field day because there were only a couple of thousand we talked about
from time to time.
