All of the above BBS's are reachable via the internet, using Netscape or Microsoft Explorer.  Two of them, kf5px and n9dbx handle standard ax.25 bbs traffic.

Users that have not had the opportunity to try packet can effectively use the amateur radio packet network, without having to purchase a tnc, dedicate a radio, etc...

Main Frequencies of all various nodes are 145.01,145.03, 145.05, 145.07 and 446.15 Mhz. Specifics are below:

145.01 Mhz

Net Rom Nodes: CRP, ALI, CRPS

CRP is located downtown on the Corpus Christi Medical tower at about 120 feet and its power output is over 50 watts. This node's baud rate is 1200 bps. It is cross linked to CRP2 on uhf. (See notes below) This site maintained by KF5PX and N5IUT.

ALI is located on a tower in Alice, Tx and is at about 300 feet. Power output is over 50 watts. This node's baud rate is 1200 bps. This site maintained by K5DYY.

CRPS is located at KA5LZG's dwelling and it at about 35 feet. Power output is over 50 watts. This site maintained by KA5LZG.

145.05 Mhz

Net Rom Node: CRPS

This is the 2nd port on a three ported BPQ switch Node at KA5LZG's house. (See 145.01 above) It's baud rate is 1200 bps. This site maintained by KA5LZG.

TexNet Node: CORPUS

CORPUS is located downtown Corpus Christi at the Wilson Building at approximately 150 feet. The power output is about 50 watts. The baud rate for users entry into this and any TexNet Node is 1200 bps. This site maintained by KA5LZG, WA2MCT and N5IUT.

KA5LZG BBS

This is a G8BPQ Net Rom Node switch with three ports coupled to an FBB ax.25 packet bulletin board software. It is located at KA5LZG's house and services personal, bulletin and NTS traffic via the TexNet and The-Net State network systems.

Its ports that are available for user traffic are: 145.01, 145.05 and 446.150 mhz.

KF5PX BBS/GATEWAY

This is a TCPIP bulletin board system coupled to the Internet via a 19,200 baud radio backbone to CARES at Texas A&M University. It forwards to and through the TexNet and The-Net State network systems as well as the Internet. The software running is JNOS1.14NNN. It handles both ax.25 as well as tcpip traffic of the personal, bulletin or NTS traffic types.

Its ports that are available for user traffic are 145.03, 446.150 mhz. and direct dialup at 857-7260, using 8,N,1 protocol.

CARES GATEWAY

This is the actual on site interface tcpip bulletin board system running TNOS 2.02 software under a linux operating system platform. As it is also a Net Rom Node, there are many nodes that are available using standard ax.25 connect protocol. (See attached current list)

Its port that is available for user traffic is located on 145.07 mhz. Its baud rate is 1200 bps. There is a backbone frequency that links the KF5PX JNOS bbs to this gateway running 19,200 baud. It has many axip standard ax.25 protocol links capable of connecting the regular user to places all over the world. (see link lists)
