Former president, Jim Cathy officially gave the club
gavel to the new president, Steve Merriman, KD5JGF. The club stood and
pledged allegiance to the U.S. flag. There were four officers and four
members present for a total attendance of eight present at the meeting. The
repeater and antennas were discussed. The antenna received ice damage and
Doyle put the roof on he repeater shack January 5, 2003. Ralph has talked to
Scott Aringer about when he goes up the tower for AETN and he will do the
work for the dub. We discussed bringing Our antenna down to about 250 feet,
where the Health Department has an antenna. It was decided to call the net
on 147.250, Dale MoGraw repeater, while our repeater is down. Ralph talked
to the company about the Mark IV the technician wants to keep it about
another week to check it out to see if its really fixed Steve wants us to
work on something to get more interest, so it you have some ideas, Let it be
known.

Our February meeting will be February 4, 2003 at the
courthouse annex. The time is 7:30 PM. We would like to have as many members
there as possible. As you can see from Evelyn’s report we have some items to
discuss. We may have Carl Richardson KB5FJX there to talk about doing a web
site for our club. It will depend on his work schedule Hope to see many of
you in the basement of the courthouse a little before 7:30 P.M.
DUES TIME
For those of you have missed the reminders it is dues
time again. Our annual dues are $15.00. You can pay hem in person on meeting
night or mail them to Evelyn If you mail then your membership card and
receipt will be attached to your newsletter.

RUSSELLVILLE HAMFEST
For those of you who did not get the email, the Hamfest
in Russellville will be March 1 2003. The location is I Hughes Community
Center at the corner of Knoxville and Parkway in Russellville. The time is
8:00 AM and talk-in will be on 146.82 Admission is $5.00, tables are $10.00,
tailgating is free. VE Testing at 9:30 - 10:30 AM DXCC and WAS/VUCC QSL card
