Veteran expert at high speed Morse code in seven different dialects
including Klingon and Romulon, Bruce Jaeger [KE7TDR]...
...teaches the basics of A, B, Cs Go Bruce! |
Brad Hyde [W5BK] explains Amateur Radio to two Scout Leaders
and one volunteer (Thomas) using visual aids. Later he will get zapped by an antenna lead to demostrate
the inherent dangers of HAM radio! |
|
|
Brad's students listen intently at his rambling on. They are captivated like the
deer that wanders into the headlights at night, unable to look away... |
Marvin Gross [KE5EUR] however has the amulet of focus, allowing him to avoid Brad's
charisma and oversee the Morse code lesson in progress.
Focus Marivn - focus... |

Journeyman Liz [WG3CKO] once again tries her Jedi blur trick as she attempts
to avoide photonic detection from a charged coupled device (CCD). But she's not blurred fast
enough to escape time capture. Practice young Jedi - practice. |
Seasoned tracker boy scout John Michael stands proud after rescuing a fallen
hiker in the high plains of the Serengeti Marvin [KE5EUR ] radios in for rescue helicopters. |

< Brain and Pinky had just left us with their plan to take over the world while we
collectively disagree on the validity of such plan. To no avail we unanimously decided to quit the
deliberation and subject the Boy Scouts (Starting with Justin) to a strange form of torture! |
So we had them item by item take pennies out of a cooler filled with ice cold water
to demonstarte how quickly hypothermia can set in. We didn't do it - but we watched - Ha! :) > |
|
|
< Boy Scout Justin engages Pepper [WF1RE] in highly technical discourse as Liz [WG3CKO]
watches on in astonishment and wonder. Pepper is amazed and transfixed. Lo to those who don't radio. |
Brad [W5BK] and John Michael deep in discussion on Morse code. Those young minds
just eat up knowledge don't they. Maybe he is our next club president. Humm... :) > |
|
|
< A general state of noramlly expected disarray and recombination of this-and-that
as the day starts to dwindle down. Great fellowship! |
Brad's [W5BK] sacrificial fingers resort to another rig after getting a pretty dang
good zap from the HF antenna lead going into our ICom - bye bye radio, we just got to know you. > |
|
This image came out small because John Michael was doing something wrong. Take after
take rendered this dinky image. He tried jumping up and down, holding his mouth just right, and
a bunch of other things... > |
|
|
< ...Until we collectively, using the scientific method, discovered it was becuase
he was holding his right leg wrong... And then whamola! We wound up with this great picture!
