All of the RF goes through this matching network and into tuned feeders and a dipole up at 90 feet.
View of Broadcast Engineers audio mixer console and above console a recently
completed homebrew project I named the 'BIRDHOUSE'. because it houses the Bird wattmeter,
VSWR meter and LPF. All equipment terminates here and can be inter-connected and distributed
to various antennas by relays and switch selection. Incorporated also is the master T/R switch
for all hi-power transmitter applications.
To the right is a view of HEKTOR. Built in 1998 thru 2000, this is currently the
main hi-power AM rig. It usesa pair of 4-250A's in the final and is modulated by a pair
of 100-TH's It is presently driven by the 32V3. A separate audio speech amplifier is under
construction for use in this rig.
This view to the left shows the Collins desk on which are the KWS-1, 32V-3, and 75A-4.
Beyond the radios is a computer capable of echo-link, PSK-31 and various digital modes.
Middle desk and view of the computer, a Yaesu FT-890, rotator control, control box
for the birdhouse, audio mixer console, TS-930, Alpha 76 and homebrew 4KW matchbox for
coax-fed antennas.
Partial view of HEKTOR with GATES modulation monitor on top. Far-corner shelves
hold SX-24 receiver I used as a novice back in ' 52, a Harvey-Wells TBS-50 and various
memorabilia.
