FARA Repeater and Digital Information

W4VA Repeater

FARA sponsors the W4VA/R repeater in Warrenton, Virginia on a frequency of 147.165(+) MHz. The repeater has an output PL of 167.9 Hz and provides excellent coverage throughout greater Northern Virginia. The FARA Net is held on the repeater each Wednesday evening at 2100 hours, local time. The repeater committee chairman is Dave - K3SK.

FARA Packet Radio

The Fauquier Amateur Radio Association operates a packet radio network on the following frequencies: 145.070, 145.090, 223.54, 446.075. The primary packet node is FARA7, W4VA-5 on 145.070, located on Viewtree mountain north of Warrenton at an elevation of 1450 ft. The BBS is located at the residence of N4YXW. The BBS can be accessed on all frequencies by connecting to the Node alias of FBBS9 or by connecting directly to N4YXW-1 on 145.070. The BBS type is JNOS Vers 1.11C, a full service Amateur Radio Packet BBS supporting TCP/IP and AX.25 with full node services. The board also has several call books available over the air, including DX. Both the nodes and the packet station are open to all amateurs. The sysop is Chuck - N4YXW.
