My name is Rick Daniel and I live in the town of Lake Wales, Florida which is located in the center of the state.
I am originally from Paintsville, KY and have also lived / worked in Baldwinsville, NY, Buckhannon, WV, Conneaut, OH, Rome, Georgia, Tampa, FL and Winter Haven, FL.
In May, 2002, I retired from Velda Farms in Winter Haven, FL as their Chief Plant Engineer. Prior to working for Velda Farms, I was employed by Anheuser-Busch for 17 years and retired as an Area Maintenance Manager in May 1999.
I received my amateur radio license (WD8MHV) from the FCC in May, 1977, while living in Conneaut, OH. In August, 1997, I applied to the FCC for the amateur radio call of W4RLD which was issued to me in September, 1997.
My hobbies include amateur radio, flying my plane (N9880L), golf and computers. Most of my amateur radio operating time is on HF (7.278 ± QRM @ 7:30 AM, 7.178 @ 5 PM and 3.825 ± QRM @ 8:30 PM eastern time) with some 2 meters. I am a member of the Lake Wales Repeater Association, Lake Wales, FL (LWRA) .
