OLD BUSINESS
- Jerry
Turner (K9CCZ) is now the Trustee for the W4LLO club license. The
paperwork had to go to the ARRL (the second time) as they complete the
changes necessary and not the FCC.
- The
Christmas Dinner for the club has been confirmed for December 12th
at the BOQ. This is a Wednesday night and we will gather around 7:30.
There will be several items on the standard menu for that night and the
price will be less than previous years.
- Club
T-shirts are on order.
- Whereas
Shirley (WA4JFK) has resigned as EC for Monroe County there is still a
need to continue getting together on the radio for a net. After discussion
the net will still be held on Sunday Night at 7:30pm sponsored by both
clubs. There is a request (Shirley, WA4JFK) for other operators to get involved
and run a net periodically. E-mail reminders will still be sent out.
Anyone interested in operating a net contact Shirley (WA4JFK).
- Dean
(W4WHN) reported that there has been good tropo with Texas on sideband.
- Dean
(W4WHN) reported that Gary Arnold (WB2WPA) the EC of Naples has passed
away. A great loss for everyone.
- Dean
(W4WHN) will be acting as Field Day coordinator for the group. We will not
be operating with a generator this year.
A motion by L.T. (WA4JFJ) / to authorize $150.00 for expenses. Passed.
Newspaper article will be submitted by Shirley (WA4JFK). Vera Dunmire
pointed out that you get better results with e-mail as they don’t have to
retype everything. Tom (K1TC) added that you need to obtain the e-mail for
the exact person needed for proper attention. Setup will begin around
10:00am with operating starting at 2:00pm.
- L.T.
(WA4JFJ) brought along a coax end protector made out of PVC and Sealant to
protect them from weather.
- Motion
to adjourn at 8:45pm with the next meeting to be held on July 26th.
