· Call to order by Vice-President Cory McDonald at 7:42 P.M.
· Minutes from the July meeting were approved as read.
· Treasurer's report of $670.51 accepted as read.
Old Business-
· Placement of an 'Adopt a Highway' sign for the radio club is still on hold. It requires policing the highway for a two mile stretch, 4 times a year. Size of sign is not known at this time. Much discussion but no decisions as yet.
· Report that ARRL has showed receipt of the Field Day packet but no official postings yet.
· Christmas Dinner-The Florida Keys Club was invited to join the Key West Club at the BOQ on Dec.8 and they have accepted. Info is going to be put on the websites and e-mailed to members as soon as a menu is received. Time of 7:15 to 7:30 for cocktails with Dinner starting around 8:00 to accommodate the Keys people arrival. A mailing will need to go out for members without e-mail.
New Business-
· Cory advised there is going to be a World Wide Single Side-band contest on 6-meter coming up.
· Miami Hamfest Tickets are available from Shirley at a price of $6.00 this year in advance. Cory reported that there may not be a Hamfest in West Palm Beach next year and that the Florida Keys Club is toying with the idea of reserving a table for members interested in selling items.
· There will be a computer show in Ft. Lauderdale this weekend at the War Memorial Museum.
They hold one nearly every month.
· Officer elections for next year will be coming up in January. A nominating committee will be assigned in Nov.
· The next meeting will be in Nov. at 7:00 P.M. with Barry, K4MG giving a demonstration of the APRS system.
