Morse Code
Reasons to learn Morse Code:
- If you can modulate/control a form of energy, you can communicate via Morse Code.
- Morse Code does not require hi-tech equipment. PSK31 and SSTV are fine digital modes; however; they are useless if the computer crashes.
- Morse Code does not suffer from language barriers. Witness the use of the "Q" codes during normal phone operations. When "QTH" is tapped out or vocalized, the receiving Ham understands you. Try "Aqui (Spanish), or Hier (German), or Here (English)" verses "QTH".
Letters - a dit is a very short sound, a dah is a longer sound
