A recently composed work by Donna Fisher for our Children's Choir:
A Very Special Child
CHORUS:
I am a child, a child, a very special child
I have a story to tell and a voice to be heard
Teach me, love me and listen with your heart
I am a child, a very special child.
I want to talk exactly at the time when I should not
You told me so an hour ago, and promptly I forgot
So if you have some patience left then that would help
a lot
I am a child, a very special child
[CHORUS]
And then there are those times when I just cannot get
my way
Before I know it words come out I never meant to say
And when I'm sent straight to my room, I know it's not
my day
I am a child, a very special child.
[CHORUS]
Sometimes I get so angry that I don't know what to do
I kick and scream and hold my breath until my face turns
blue
There's got to be a better way, so help me learn from
you
I am a child, a very special child.
[CHORUS]
