GUIDELINES FOR
EMERGENCY COMMUNICATIONS
1. Check-in on the above listed
frequencies if you suspect something's taking place. Assume automatic net
activation if you can't get a dial tone. Non-ham frequencies to monitor are:
Emergency Alert System (EAS) Radio: WZBH 93.5 FM or
WSSR 900 AM / WBOC-TV 487.750 (AUDIO ONLY)
National Weather Service: 162.475 MHz /
2. Listen to the Net Control Station and direct all communications through him/her.
3. Listen more than you talk; strive
for brevity and clarity. Use plain language and ITU phonetics; do not
use "Q" signals.
4. Formal messages must be written; use
form ICS-213 and have message signed by an Emergency Official. Keep
an event log
