Severe Weather Spotter Training Session

8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., Saturday, February 28, 2004

3M Center, Austin, Texas

The 2004 Skywarn session was attended by over 220 people, including representatives from the weather services of the local TV and Radio Stations, the LCRA, National Weather Service, American Red Cross, Emergency Management Agencies of Austin and Travis Country, and various Amateur Radio Emergency Response Groups. The weather forecasting / monitoring community consider this annual weather spotter training activity to be an important element of their preparedness program.

3M was thanked for its fourteen years of community service in helping make Central Texas a safer place to live through events like the annual Skywarn storm spotter training sessions.

The event was announced in the Austin American Statesman last week and there was a short clip on Fox News channel 7 at 6:00 PM Saturday the same evening.


The location at the 3M facility at 6801 Riverplace Blvd. Austin, TX. (Same as all previous years). 
Follow the Skywarn signs for parking.
The talk in freq. is the 3M ARC repeaters at 146.900 MHz and 444.600 MHz.
Registration is from 8:15 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. There is no cost for the training.
Lunch is from 12 noon to 1:00 p.m. Tickets for BBQ lunch served on site are $6.00 person.
The program ends at 4:00 p.m.
Coffee will be provided during registration and during the breaks courtesy 
of the Central Texas Chapter of the American Red Cross.
Soft drinks will also be on sale throughout the day.
