W3MRC has a Digipeater and NODE to help cover Travis and Williamson Counties for the the Amateur Radio Emergency Service (ARES) in the NW Austin area.  Connecting to W3MRC will automatically send you to W3MRC-1 the PBBS. (CMSG is set to PBBS)

TCARES Packet radio check-ins are done every Sunday evening at 8:00 PM on the TCARES frequency 145.730 MHz. in the unproto mode.
Set your UNPROTO command to "yourname via AUSRLY-1" so that everyone will see your packets.  Please send us an email with your comments and/or suggestions.  Signal reports of our digipeater and node and your QTH would be good information for us so that we can make improvements as needed
