Hello and welcome to my Amateur Radio Station, W3HPA, on a hilltop south of this famous cross roads in Chocolate Town U.S.A.  My interest in amateur radio started in 1963 as Novice station WN2HUO in Manhasset, Long Island, NY with an S-38D receiver and a DX60 transmitter that I built from a kit.  After college in West Virginia and Pennsylvania, I returned to Long Island to work as an engineer at Sperry and operate in Port Washington as WB2HLQ.

In 2003 we moved to Pennsylvania and I changed my call sign to W3HPA.  The radio station today, includes an Icom IC-746 PRO and Ameritron AL-811 amplifier with the Icom IC-AT500 tuner for an 80 -10M Windom at 30 feet.  I also have a Drake 2B receiver that is still a hot performer and a Johnson Viking Ranger transmitter that I'm hoping to repair for operating AM some day.

My business here in Pennsylvania involves my other hobby of model railroading and skills as an electrical engineer.  All that experience soldering together those Heathkits in the past also comes in handy.  Like most everything with electronics, model railroading has finally gone digital.  My storefront is www.dccroundhouse.com where I sell products and offer my installation services for digital command control and sound modules.  Some are even radio controlled!

Thanks for stopping by.
