Minutes
A motion was made and seconded to approve the minutes of the May meeting
as distributed.  The motion was approved by voice vote.

Treasurer's Report
Fred AI3Z reported that the Club was doing well and now has 50 members.
The bank balance is $1,193.51 and cash on-hand is $149.20 giving a net
worth of $1,342.71.  There was $13.50 income from the 50/50 drawing.  A
motion was made and seconded to accept the Treasurer's Report as
presented.  The motion was approved by voice vote.

Programs
Nick K3NY reported on the D-Day Special Event.  He said that we were
sparsely represented on Sunday.  Nick presented the Members who
participated with an attractive certificate and an information sheet on
the electronic countermeasures pictured on the certificate.  He said that
we made about 600 contacts, 100 DX contacts and 500 state-side contacts.
Nick reported that the Brits were looking for us on D-Day because Radcom
magazine from the RSGB printed an article describing our D-Day Special
Event.  Nick passed around a copy of the article based on information that
Nick sent to them.  20 m was fairly good and yielded 40 states.  Joe K3JIS
said that he spoke about D-Day at his church and he gave a review of his
presentation including the impressive statistics he included.  Nick also
worked several WWII vets and asked them for their stories.  Nick has
purchased an Enigma-e kit for about $200.  Jim N3GOO reported that he
talked to Tom W1TP, an Enigma dealer, at the Reading show.  He said that
the current price for a copy of the Enigma machine was about $26,000.
Nick spent $349.46 on QSL cards and about $21 on postage.  Nick has
combined all computer log files from both computers into one file for
W3HEM DX. The regular logging computer is unreliable, so you should use
the computer normally used by ATV for logging.  The QSL cards for the
D-Day Special Event have started to come in.  The world's only remaining
Alexanderson alternator will be fired up on 17.2 kHz in Sweden on July 4.
See www.tinyurl.com/21moe for more information.  Miscellaneous items:
Nick has 10 years of QST from N3HLT, who is moving at the end of June.
Mildred Fitch has a tape punch TTY machine available for donation.  A
church in Annapolis would like to have help with emergency communications
for church members.  Nick has boxes of meters, terminal strips, switches,
computer parts, etc. from Lois Turner KA3VVQ that used to belong to her
husband Herman (SK).  See Nick after the meeting. "Empire of the Air" was
on PBS at 10 PM last night.  A DVD copy is available.

Operations
Les WR3X said that things are going well.   Chuck, Heru, Phil and Les took
the antennas off the air conditioner on the roof so it could be repaired.
Now we will need to get the antennas back up on stanchions.  We do not
know when the work crew will do the work, probably after Field Day.  Help
will be needed.  The circular polarized antenna needs to be up for ATV
sound.  We have brackets.  Chuck has an extra 10' pipe for the antenna.
The NG nets have been good.  There was none last week due to the air
conditioner repair.  There were 6 check-ins yesterday.  On Saturday June 5
there were 5 check-ins.  Fill-in operators are needed.  Les reported that
he was unable to reproduce the computer problems that others experienced.

Training
Next week is the last week of training for the 4 students.  One student
has provided a laptop for code practice.  Testing is scheduled for the
following week.  There will be an Extra class in the fall.  Rol Anders is
now a grandfather--congratulations Rol.

FAR
Chip W4PBG was out-of-town so there was no FAR report.

Jackets
No one has heard from Sam about jackets.
Jim has a contact for hats and is looking into the cost.

Old Business

There was no additional old business.

New Business

Speaker at BARC
Heru mentioned that on Wednesday BARC will hear a talk by the man who
built the model airplane that flew the Atlantic.  All are welcome.

HEMARC.ORG
hemarc.org has been established, but Nick does not know how to access it
yet.  qsl.net/w3hem is set up, but Nick does not have the password yet.
The QSL people are hard to contact.  Nick says that we will get there
eventually.

New (Old) Collins Radios
A member reported that an electronics company has found some 20 year-old
Collins radios in storage that are like new.  Several members were
interested.

Possible Donation
A PK232 is available for donation to the museum.  Jim observed that it is
a relatively new device.

Adjournment
A motion was made and seconded to adjourn the meeting.  The motion was
approved by voice vote at 6:54 PM.

50-50 Lottery
The 50-50 lottery drawing was made.

Technical Program
The topic was Field Day.  Members discussed and decided on the location,
stations to be operated, members who would be responsible for various
functions, items to bring, food arrangements, demonstration activities,
setting up and tearing down.
