TBL-13

The TBL13 was a Navy radio communication transmitter designed and built between 1936 and 1945. The original 59 sets were produced in the Westinghouse Chicopee Falls, MA plant. 4338 set were supplied by Westinghouse and were produced at the Baltimore, MD and East Springfield, MA plants.

The TBL evolved from teh master oscillator circuits developed fro the predecessor TBF and TBK transmitter sets.

The TBL-13 first entered World War II in the service of the British Navy. In 1939 the United States provided the British Navy reconditioned "four" stack destroyers for North Atlantic enemy submarine suppression. The TBL-13 was installed on these vessels.
