Good evening , this is (callsign, name) in control of the Tuesday evening net sponsored by the Monessen Amateur Radio Club. We regularly use the 147.27 MHz (plus 600 KHz offset) WA3DIQ repeater located near Bentleyville, Pennsylvania. In the event of an outage of this repeater, the alternate is the 145.17 MHz ( minus 600 KHz offset) WB3LUC repeater located at Normalville Pennsylvania.
This net is operated every Tuesday evening at 8:00 PM, 2000 hours, prevailing local time. This is a directed net activated for the purposes of training in emergency communications, equipment verification, and the exchange of information of interest to the amateur radio community. Although this net is sponsored by the Monessen Amateur Radio Club, it is open to all amateurs regardless of affiliations. Please feel free to check in an participate.
Please speak slowly and clearly so that net control may record your information. Include in your initial transmisssion your callsign, name and location. Comments, announcements, and traffic are always welcome. If you have such a contribution, please make this known to net control as you check-in and state whether it is of emergency, priority, or general nature. Courteous and considerate operating practices are always appreciated. If spelling is requested, please use the standard ITU phonetic alphabet. In order to avoid doubling, call net control, then key off for a brief period to determine if a double has occurred. If not, continue with your check-in. Net control will attempt to resolve doubles by directing one party at a time to respond. If possible, please remain with the net until it is secured as information of interest may follow. If you must secure early, please advise net control of this.
We will now begin with check-ins of anyone with priority or emergency traffic (wait approximately 5 seconds). Hearing none, we will now take check-ins from portable or mobile stations only (Take all portable and mobile check-ins, then give a last call for them). At this time we will take check-ins from fixed stations.
(Note: About every 5 to 10 check-ins, depending on level of activity, pause to acknowledge the most recent group by callsign and name. At each pause, net control should then allow anyone with traic of a general nature to present his or her item, including discussion. Then proceed with additional check-ins.)
(When check-ins appear to have ceased, make one last call, then announce net closing.)
As there are no further check-ins, net control wishes to thank all who participated tonight. We had a total of (quantity) check-ins, this evening, including net control. Please remember to participate next week at this same time on the 147.27 MHz repeater, or the 145.17 MHz alternate. This is (callsign, name) securing the net and returning the repeater to general amateur use.
OPTIONAL: Net control may if he/she wishes go down the list of check-ins just before securing the net, asking for any last comments and for each participant to check out by giving callsign and "clear".
OPTIONAL: Announce the time and place of the next MARC meeting ( Third Monday of each month at 7:30 PM on the 4th floor of the Mon Valley Community Health Center, Eastgate Plaza, Monessen) and invite any interested parties to attend, whether currently members or not.
