• OUR INTERESTS


    We cover all aspects of Emergency Service. This includes medical training at Basic First Aid level to First Responder certification. Along with Emergency Service we use amateur radio for communications support. Our Crew's callsign is W3BSA.

  • EMERGENCY RADIO SERVICE


    In the event of disasters or large scale events - such as Marathons, Holiday Parades, or Wilderness events which require an informed medical staff - we can aide the local radio emergency service in providing communications for the people who are in charge.

  • REGULAR ACTIVITES


    Our Crew Regularly Participates In:

    • Jamboree on the Air
    • First Aid and Communications support for the Marine Corps Marathon
    • First Aid and Communications support for the Colonial District Fall and Spring Camporees
    • Scouting for Food program
    • Assist the Mount Vernon Amateur Radio Club with the George Washington's Birthday Special Event Station
    • Communications and First Aid support for the St. Patrick's Day Parade
    • Capital "E-V" Conference for Capital Area Venturing Crews and Explorer Posts.

    Our Crew is sponsored and supported by: The First Christian Church of Alexandria, which provides a meeting place, a ham shack, and utilities.
    The Mount Vernon Amateur Radio Club (MVARC), which lends us equipment and keeps us informed of major ham radio events.
