Amateur Radio Licensee Scholarship program. (One more time!)

We recently received information regarding an amateur radio licensee scholarship program. Robert Zugates, KB3JOF, has recently posted all the information, qualifications, application etc. on our club website: www.qsl.net/wb3bmd . Individuals holding a valid amateur radio license and planning to, or are currently enrolled in a qualified institution of higher learning are encouraged to participate.

==============================================================

A couple reminders.

If you plan to join the club for 2008 please complete a membership application, available on our club website: www.qsl.net/wb3bmd . Mail the application and the appropriate dues to our secretary:

Kim Frech

681 Washington Church Road

Home, PA 15747

Also, if you know of anyone wanting to acquire an amateur license, remember, there are no longer any code requirements. Feel free to invite them to our meetings and of course, join the club.

==============================================================

I recently traveled to our home here in Brooksville, FL, opened up the house and, with a lot of effort, got my computer booted up, checked my email only to find that I had three thousand three hundred and two (3,302) emails.

I contacted Verizon to determine what was going on. I'm not sure they ever gave me a good explanation. I never had this experience before. It appeared that almost every email I received in 2007 was being held on their server. I had to go onto their server and delete my thousands of emails.

Thanks and 73's,

New Business:

Ham Fest 2008: Rusty O'Donnell, WB3EUQ

Rusty had previously checked on the price to rent the Armagh Fire Hall, the price quoted was $125 for four hours or $150 for 24 hours (Since we're a ham radio club) Rusty was going to check with the Armagh Fire Chief to determine what the quoted prices include ie: kitchen etc.

There was little discussion since so many members were absent. It was suggested we have the ham fest in the fall since we're rather slow in the planning process. It was also noted that we need to do a better job at advertising.

What needs to be determined: If we're interested ? Where ? When ? Vendors ? Breakfast etc ? Need someone to take charge ?

QST has to have two months advance notice.

Dave Dzelsky, N3DZ, previously mentioned testing would be by reservation.
