Darrell R. Norris - WA3AJQ
Field Day 2005 is now history, what kind of time our participating club members had depends a lot on whom you talk to.
I understand there were some ill feelings and I'm sorry about that.
At the last club meeting I realized I personally had some serious misunderstandings about the event, how and for what reason our members participate. I always thought our members were in serious competition with every other participating amateur radio operator in the country and in conclusion to the event, Dave N3DZ submitted the necessary paper work to the ARRL for our club score, I was informed otherwise. Sorry Dave for the misunderstanding.
It was also brought to the attention of the attendees that our participation and operating was "for fun" and not necessarily for score, there's nothing wrong with that, we simply need to make sure everyone planning to participate next year clearly understands the situation.
Also, next year we need to engage in a more detailed field day discussion and establish a better, more effective organization. We need to make sure the ARRL operating rules are available to the participating members and just "have fun".

Al Fister N3ZFZ made the motion to approve the minutes as read; it was seconded by Roger Lute N3PHX, the motion passed.
Robert Zugates KB3JOF, made a motion that being there will no longer be a newsletter that the minutes should be read at each meeting. It was seconded by Carl Hvozda N3PIE, the motion passed.

Newsletter/ Website: Darrell WA3AJQ, report to the membership that for personal reasons Roger Bartlebaugh N3ULC, will no longer be our newsletter or due his portion of the website. Robert KB3JOF, will continue his version of the website.
Field Day: Larry Freeman N3LT, reported that 4 tents were set up for field day. There was a lot of help to setup but no help to tear down. Darrell WA3AJQ, asked if anyone was going to turn in the paperwork to the ARRL for field day? Larry stated they didn't have enough contacts to make it worth turning in.
Christmas Party: The annual ICARC party will be Sunday December 11, 2005 @ 6:00 pm in the large room at Hoss's in Indiana. The Lutes said that we need 25 to 30 to attend to keep the large room.
Picnic: Darrell WA3AJQ, said that Bill Menk WB3LAB will host our picnic at his home sometime in early September. More information at a later date.
A 50/50 was held and won by Al Fister N3ZFZ. There being no further business the meeting was adjourned.
