Happy Holidays Everyone! Feel free to forward on to your amateur contacts around the area!
Merry Christmas arrived just a little early this year. After much planning, hard work, coordination and plenty of waiting, I am happy to report that the BKRA has placed our 6 meter repeater into operation as of about 1500 hrs today.
The repeater operates on an input of 52.95 and a repeater output of 53.95. The PL is 167.9. The machine sports a new antenna at 80 FT on the Multicomm Tower on Brush Mountain. We have 46 watts out of the duplexers, and the repeater is a Mitrek Conversion which was completed by Scott Zimmerman, N3XCC in Somerset. The Mitrek was kindly provided by a local 6 Meter GURU!! So for you 6M folks, time to tune'em up and tune'em in!!!
Everyone should remember that the BKRA systems are open to use by any amateur and give us some feedback, you can always write back to bkra@hotmail.com or check out www.bkra.info for our basic information related to status, projects and happenings.
Next in line is the final completion of the NU3T Brush Mountain Upgrade. We hit a couple of snags in the process...hard to come by an in band amateur repeater these days. The new one will be a TAIT - a little brother/sister of the BK machine. The PA, CAT controller and power supplies are already in stock, we are awaiting the delivery of the machine. We will post this success story as soon as we (DAVE NU3T - Installation Supervisor) gets things in place.
As for the MSF2000 machine, controller and accessories, after a tune up, check up, and good down home cleaning, it will be transferred to the W03T site and improve the output capacity.
So if you want to listen to the BKRA fleet of frequencies, or use em, there they are:
For now, thats about it. I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and I wish you all continued or improved health and happiness as the holidays approach.
Warm Regards,
Jeff Blake, KB3FML
