Amateur Radio

I started in Amateur Radio by first listening to Short Wave with a Yaesu FT-757GXII, till I received my first License back in 1999. Since then I have made General with HF privileges. I enjoy many of the modes from the W2VQY Station.

I work mostly in the mode of phone. But I have tinkered around with digital such as PSK31 and CW with a CT-22. I seem to send better than I can copy, but with help and encouragement from a good friend of mine, AB2CJ, I learnt a lot in all aspects of ham radio. Check out his web site at: AA2AE's Amateur Radio Page. There you will find all kinds of goodies to keep you busy. In the true sense of the word, AA2AE has been a great help to a group of us here in the New York area. My hat's off to ya 'AA'. Thanks for all the help!

In the year of 1955, two separate events took place that has always keep my Grandfather and I apart. The first was his pass on becoming a Silent Key and second, I was born some months later. But recently I have been able to bridge the gap and now we are in some way together.

My Grandfather-Felix Ghirlando.

Here are some pages of the modes that I have been working on.
