The HTX-202 on the left for uplink, with a half wave MFJ-1714
and a 14 guage wire full wave loop. I use the wire loop from inside
the house and when I have time to orient it on a picnic table or bush.
The IC-Q7A on the right for downlink with a half wave MFJ-1717S
and small light-weight beam based on
K5OE's great Handie-Tenna.
The MFJ1717S works ok on passes over 15 degrees and is pocket portable.
The Handie-Tenna works great even inside.
Here are a couple of other experiments I tried.
The half wave loop I made never managed to get an uplink.
The LPTPM II that VK3JED
made worked ok for me as a direct connect.
I think I need to trim it down some, becuase I used 3/16 copper tubing, to get better performance.
